About Sova

Sova is a narrative-driven roguelike that blends fast-paced action with rich, interactive storytelling inspired by CRPGs. As the titular Sova, players navigate the treacherous, ever-shifting landscape of the Conjecture – fighting, exploring and uncovering the layered mysteries of this weird, fascinating world.

Each run into the unknown offers a fresh opportunity to craft unique builds and experiment with an evolving arsenal of abilities and skills. With every success and failure, the story unfolds – characters grow, quests shift, and new encounters emerge, creating a dynamic narrative shaped by player choices.

Sova features a striking visual style that merges hand-crafted pixel art with modern visual effects, brought to life by a haunting, surreal soundtrack that dynamically responds to player actions, immersing you deeper into its eerie, otherworldly atmosphere.

Sova will enter Early Access in 2026, with a full release planned for 2027 on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

Interactive Storytelling

The story of Sova unfolds non-linearly, allowing players to explore the narrative at their own pace and from diverse perspectives. Rather than following a fixed sequence, players uncover narrative threads organically through exploration, interaction, and progression. The protagonist’s inner voice offers a personal lens through which the world is experienced.

Branching dialogue systems shape conversations with characters, dynamically responding to the player’s choices and actions. Player decisions leave lasting marks – narrative, aesthetic, and mechanical – on the environment, the characters, and the protagonist herself.

Evolving Combat

Combat is a core pillar of Sova, offering players not just challenge, but a dynamic space for mechanical self-expression. As players progress, they unlock and combine a wide array of abilities, tools, and synergies – transforming each encounter into a personalized showcase of strategy, creativity, and skill.

Encounters are designed as rich, kinetic playgrounds that reward experimentation and mastery. They invite players to test their builds, assert their tactical understanding, and overcome escalating challenges through precision and adaptability.

Weird World

The world of Construct is rich, strange, and deeply engaging – designed to reward curiosity. Players are encouraged to explore every corner of this shifting landscape, uncovering compelling encounters, characters and anomalies. The cyclical nature of gameplay enables multiple paths through each biome, with progression unlocking hidden routes that lead to special events, rare rewards, and dynamic combat scenarios.

No two excursions from the central hub are the same. Each run introduces new combinations of abilities, weapons, and upgrades, while procedurally generated zone layouts, enemy placements, and character appearances ensure variety and surprise. As players advance, they gain tools to bring order to the chaos—“imposing laws” onto the Conjecture to influence biome structure, control encounter types, and tailor their journey in increasingly strategic ways.

Entropic Island

Entropic Island is the video game development team from Niš, Serbia. We released our debut title in 2023: Lawbringer, a roguelike arena brawler. That same year, we were awarded the Creative Europe MEDIA grant for narrative game development, allowing us to explore ideas with greater ambition – narratively, mechanically, and aesthetically.

Our team is made up of experienced developers and enthusiasts whose collaboration spans over seven years across various commercial and hobbyist projects. Entropic Island is rooted in a simple philosophy: make games that are fun to play and a joy to create.

We’re a small team, and we believe our games should feel personal and handcrafted. Our interests, ideas, and humor are meant to bleed into the games – through narrative, art, music, or gameplay. Our games should have something to say. And sometimes, something to shout.
